 Junior Varsity

1987 Season

1987 was the first year Prep had a Varsity Lacrosse team.  Playing under a new coach, the team had its difficulties yet still managed to have a successful season beating Gonzaga, St. Stephens and Bullis. "This year's team was the start of a strong team in the years to come. Under the leadership of old-timers such as Christian Fraiture, Dave Burns and Rob Clark the incoming underclassmen learned how to be a power in the midfield. Under the watchful eye of goalie, Josh Buchman, the defense of Dave Flynn, Todd Maiberger, and Mike Kubik, many strong teams were stopped in their tracks. On the whole, it was a strong year for Prep Lacrosse, but most of all it was a beginning ... the start of something BIG." (1987 Cupola)

The '87 team included notable athletes; Pat Christmas, Brian Ridgway, Willie Oshodin (who played for the Denver Broncos), Kevin Plank (later of Under Armour fame) and Chris Burns (90, who taught at Prep and coached lacrosse there).

The individual photos are of Rob Clark (87), Mike Kubik (87), John Moscarillo (87), Sean Breshnahan (88) and David Burns (87).
